Anyone out there know how to wire up electric window bypass switch, to eliminate that rotten the " Key On " only, to get them to work,,,
According to Roachie, it can be done with a " monemtary on " switch, hooked into a relay ,,,,, I have looked about but cannot find anything ( yet )
Cheers
Bucky

G'day Bucky,
Yes, I have done
mine on the Patrol. The relay in question is inside/above the left kick panel....I had to remove the glovebox to reach it. Dunno whether it is the same setup in the Navara.
Funny thing is that the driver's window isn't controlled by that relay. Sooo, if I'm the d/head who leaves MY window down after turning the motor off, then I STILL have to turn the ignition back on to wind the window back up. But, if it's one of the other 3 windows then I can press down the starter-type button and while holding it down, I can operate the other 3 window switches from the driver's
seat, or the individual door switches work too.

Hi Roachie,
What do you mean by the "starter type button"?

Sorry mate......showing my age!!!! It's just a momentary contact push button. You could equally use a momentary contact toggle switch etc.
For all I know, there may not be any issue with actually supplying power to the relay full time. However, I don't know this for sure, hence I've erred on the side of caution and elected to do the momentary contact trick.
Cheers mate

AAAHHHH!
how silly do I feel! I was thinking "My patrol doesn't have a starter button, you just turn the key" HaHaHa I had better cut down on the red intake!

Hi roachie
you can put a relay in to by pass the key by,using a 30amp relay on that u have the 30/85/86/87,Join the 30 and 86 together put to +positive(12volt)power when car is off with no key in,do this useing a 20amp inline fuse, put the 85 to -negative(ground) but via a 10amp toggle switch ,witch will become the on an off,the 87 goes to the +positive(12volt) ignition wire found at the coloum harness, make sure it is true ignition as ther will be 2 ,1 will go out when u try to start car but the true is the on that stays +12v when you try ti start car that the 1 u need to tap into then ya done no more key, just flick the toggle switch an wind them up,or most car alarm guys will have a auto window winder unit that will wind up all windows when u lock the car with the remote if u have 1 that is.
hope this helps
Cheers pat nav
