Go to the car warm it up, back it out , she's still no where in sight, WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?? , Oh the phones rang!, daughter on the other end, What you up to mum? Another !1/2 hr of waiting, an they say men have no patience, Bugger me!!.

Hi Axle,
Someone ( usually me) declares a departure time,in consultation. The time is usually not negotiable as we are meeting others. Its everyone's job to know all there own secret business and get done by that time.
Some what fascist approach, but I got sick of running back into the house. On club trips when your last to a meeting point and get lumbered with a few trip reports, the family starts to under stand why they have to get their stuff in pile.
The departure time needs to be declared the night before departure - usually at dinner.
Some initial grief, but we all know the game plan now ;)
Compared to the others, this is a bit of a 'sid serius' reply - but it can be a serious mens mental health issue that can only lead to needing to pack more beer :)

Oh Axle...you poor bugger me...lol
Not in this household mate.
Everything is run with military precision and questions asked are " Do you have a hanky? Do you have your medication? Do you have the Mobile phone?
All answers end in "Yes, dear"!
Packing and organising usually starts a week before.........even if you are going a way for a day.............
We still forget things tho.....hahahahaha
Cheers

I don't know if its a male thing, but for me after about the 3rd question in a row " Do you have a hanky? Do you have your medication? Do you have the Mobile phone? I can no longer hear the words clearly but continue to reply "yes Dear" regardless.......and leave something at
home.

Well Axle I may have a solution,
Tell her you need to leave 1 hour prior to actually leaving and therefore, you will actually leave at the right time.
The only reason we are always right is because we are! and therefore we get sick of saying "I told you so".
Beer and chips are not the only nutrietion required on a camping trip, so a wife's job is not on vacation when we go, we still have to look after you lot. :o)
If it wasn't for us lovely wives, you would end up more gassy than normal and trust me we would prefer you weren't.

Ahhhh...at last, support from the better halves;)) Thank you Nicole! I think we have stormed a male bastion here. It seems that the women folk are so busy looking after the men folk, they never get near the computers to read what the old fellas are saying. Imagine all these old guys, interminably hunting and pecking at their keyboards while they mutter, "Yes dear.....no dear," into their beards. ;p

Hi Axle
I sat down once and treated the problem like any other engineering issue.
Worked out a logical solution that seems to be keeping my lot in line (wife and teenager).
You see about an hour up the road on a country trip we do often is a cappicino
shop that my wife loves, and I.m also told they sell great hot chips.
I say , no problems dear , we will stop if we get there by 9am, otherwise we will have to keep on driving to make up time !
Only once or twice in many many drives have we been unable to stop for the bribes !! (and they were bad trips!)
I will however ensure they don't see this post , if case one of the opposition come up with a work around to this solution !
