I have mentioned these handy little Widgets before and now there is quite a lot of new Members that would have missed the post last year, I have added a few to my Webpage for you Download plus the Engine exe. that is needed for them to work .there is many 1000s , many will be useless as they are for overseas I have the two Weathers on my desktop, one on Perth and one on Brisbane, plus the little Mini Calculator it is very small but works, Some people think they clutter up the desktop, not so because you can push them off to the side almost out of sight off the edge of the screen and drag them back when needed, anyhow if you click the link that takes you to the Yahoo website you can browse the different Categories in the Gallery, they are free to use, the Yahoo Weather is a beaut ,with the sun or night, clouds or rain, another way of finding what you want is type in ...say Radio in the search and hit enter and you have 381 little radios to choose from. Have fun, I have spent hours on this site,

Hi Doug
Well done on the website.
How do you Yahoo's weather forecast?
I find the ABC website or the BOM a better reflection of what can "Possibly" happen with the weather.
Cheers

Gday PeteS and Doug

I have found (been convinced by SWMBO) to use the elders weather site. It has great information on the area you want all on the one page. It has all the radar, sat. images etc and better graphics than BOM (IMO)

Cheers Andrew

Peter /Andrew
Good morning to you .
Peter you don't understand just what these are it seems, it is not like going to a web site for ABC or BOM although there is a BOM Widget that does show maps of Australian Cities, I have added some more links , a photo , and some more explanations about how, when and why, the actual website has a very good Demo that I hope this link will work, if not I have a link on my web page , as I explained these little icon type Widgets can be pushed almost out of sight of the edge of the screen if you don't if you don't want them visible all the time, with mine i can just see the edge and the cursor pulls them out for viewing, don't worry you can't lose them there ,
the link.... Learn the ins and outs. Take the Yahoo! Widgets tour

If that don't work go to my website

I am with you Andrew and Pete though also go to the more speculative one wxmaps.org/pix/prec7.html to look ahead to what may "possibly" happen.

Doug I tried your widgets last time you posted but found they hogged my computer and band width at times so I deleted them. Waste of time I thought. I can better decide myself.

Hi Doug
Sorry, yes I do know about the Yahoo widgets however.............. my post this morning had a typo in it. I meant to ask "how you find the accuracy of the Yahoo weather?" (my excuse for the error!, well its a lame one, but is it was so early in the morning I did not have all the brain, eyes and fingers in synch).

I previously had links to Yahoo weather on my home page. This was for towns I visit regularly. I found the info on a fair few occasions to be out of whack to the actual weather (yeah I know, what weather forecast isn't) but it also differed to the BOM forecasts at times.

I did try various widgets when Yahoo first had them but found them a bit busy on my screen at times.

Also a note for JohnR, good to see some of your posts starting to flow know you have JUST arrived back in Oz. And thanks for your return email re the KK & water filter. Will answer seperately.

Cheers PeteS

I can't help it if some people don't know how to use things or have no intention of learning

Hi Andrew
i Googled the Elders site (never heard about it before) and I must say it seems a great site on 1st impressions. I have bookmarked it for use.
It appears easy on the eyes and easy to find locations etc.
I agree, the BOM site is not a friendly site to navigate.

On another note I have been going over our GRR plans again. I actually sent some emails in the wee small hours of this morning to some of the places. Once I have consolidated these I will contact you again with a bit more local knowledge as per our earlier communications.

Hi Doug

I love them and the new setup is even better, I have the calendar, analogue clock, werewolf monitor ( you can never be to careful, but it does tell you what the moon is up too ) and I also have the Yahoo weather. I find them a great little tool to use.

Have fun
