Well we are leaving
Adelaide on Thursday morning to get on the way to the cape..
With the pending weather fronts we are not sure whether to chance going through the guts,, (
innamincka, cordillo etc etc,,,), and risked being stuck for a few days or go via
broken hill,
cobar, burke etc...
If anyone has any realtime reports on the area (not internet weather reports),,, that would be great..

If your uncertain about the weather, stick with B/
Hill,
Cobar,
Nyngan, Gilgandra etc. By then you should be far enough away from the s/w fronts so that weather shouldn't be a major problem. Might take a few extra hours but at least you won't be delayed by mud etc. The biggest priorority is to keep moving in a n/e direction. You'll eventually reach the Cape. Good luck and enjoy. Lucky you.

Grant
It has rained all night here on the edge of the outback so it may be possible that some gravel roads will be closed for a few days at least.
I would stick to the bitumen if I were you.
Cheers

There's a really awesome pizza
shop in
cobar, with the traditional baking oven etc.... so you might as
well drop into
brisbane on your way up then?

The road between B/H and
Cobar is looong and straight.
There are stretches of dead straight road for 30-40k a slight bend and more loong straight road.
It is also a case of beware of the goat as opposed to beware of the 'roo.

Voxson,
You could always go to
Broken Hill,
Wilcannia and then up the river to
Bourke. It's an interesting run and doesn't take much longer than going via
Cobar. The Police in
Wilcannia should be able to give good advice on road conditions. The Seargent is a mate of
mine and loves getting off the main road. He also knows some nice camping spots up towards
Tilpa and
Louth.

Been quite a bit of rain around the
Hill today and AFIK most red roads around here are closed.
Not sure about the river roads to
Tilpa and
Louth though, I would imagine they would be closed.
