Just had a bit of a read of the link you posted, and was unimpressed by the image portrayed, and the "look and Feel" of the site.

We know the web is full of rubbish, and to find the good stuff one has to mine a lot of slag. Bit like finding good info on a forum, actually :)

My bit of critical analysis of what this bloke writes reveals to me that he is a classic troll by his own definition.
He states "The following Field Guide to Trolls has appeared in many forms over the past couple of years and was originally written by me, though it is not always attributed."
Then he states- "Classics make up elaborate stories about themselves, sometimes weaving some amounts of truth into their lies."

So he makes up an elaborate story that he originally wrote something that is now in his mind repeated frequently.

Another clue that he is talking rubbish is "The profiles herein were inspired by my "web travels" but do not refer to specific individuals. No correlation to any person, living or dead, is intended or implied."

That's either a total lie or a revelation that what he is crapping on about afterwards is meaningless. Either way, what he writes is of zero value. You can't claim to be describing people's behaviour when you exclude that behaviour from describing any person living or dead.

Another clue that the site is full of drivel, is the little picture of the mouse with the gun at the head of the page - and his selected name.

I suggest you NEVER measure your behaviour by this person's paradigm.

So, are there people who disrupt, etc on the forum? You betcha. It's impossible in my view to have a general forum like this one, albeit 4x4 travelling based, without a variety of posts from a variety of people.

Some of those people will post rubbish some of the time and good stuff at other times, often minutes apart. As I said, if you want to mine for the good stuff, be prepared to sift through a lot of rubbish and have a laugh at some of it along the way.

Cheers :)

Your right though you have to have a laugh along the way.

Cheers,
Babs.

I confess to reading as far as "Classic Troll tactic number 7" ......

I had a feeling it was all crap as soon as I saw the site, but sometimes it's amusing to read drivel just so you can shake your head while smiling sadly ..

Your right Gerhardp1.

That site is a troll windup in itself.

If we didn't have the stirrers and the ones who are willing to push a particular viewpoint, this world wouldn't change, and our horizons wouldn't be widened.

It is how the rest of us accept those people, and work with them that makes the difference.

Some times some ones inane comments may not have relevance to one person, but will to another.

Thats what I like about this forum.

I can post some like this and don't get my head bitten off. :o)

And I get a range of views and comments from the almost profane (David wouldn't allow profanity) to the insightful, and a good range in between.

"sometimes it's amusing to read drivel just so you can shake your head while smiling sadly .. ", ------- and we all learn something.

Gerhard,
was thinking the same thing as I opened up the site.
Now by stating this, I guess I have already categorised myself to at least one of those definitions, and now expect a flood of hate mail.
