1Hz reuseable air filter

Are you sure they are the washable type? I thought the only way to clean them was by blowing out with compressed air - from the inside cone outwards. Washing with water would only damage the filter component.

Gregory's says:

a genuine air cleaner element can be cleaned during it's normal service life but should be renewed at the intervals recommended (which is 100,000!)

and describes how to clean it if it is only moderately dirty by:

1. with compressed air from inside to outside
2. submerging and plunging up and down at least 10 times in clean water
3. removal of excess water by shaking and compressed air

I just threw an extremely dusty one in the bin today - might retrieve it in the morning and try their method.

Thanks Andrew, that's the info I will go with, sounds about right.

tu, filter is supposed to be washed every 10000km max or ideally every 5000km. Maybe yours was a bit overdue in that dept. Ryco might be cheaper but it is a throw away.

I wash mine out whenever I remember to (usually during oil changes).

I don't bother drying it out in the sun - just shake the excess water out and stick it back in and away you go. Easy as.
