Anyone out there back from
Cape York lately?? Word is the roads are in excellent condition with very few corrugations. And have the bulldozed Gunshot Ck??
We're off in 3.5 weeks time- so hope the school holidayers don't stuff things too much.
Any
feedback would be grateful !!

Yes very few corro's... Stuff all in actual fact..
Telstra have laid some more cable all the way along the OTL and they have cleaned up the track so their standard vehicles could get through...
You can drive down and up Gunshot,,, the track is nice and easy now...
There is still the option to drive down gunshot in the traditional fashion,,,, you would be mad if you didnt...
Nolans Brook or
Bridge Creek (whichever you call it),,, is quite deep in the middle and VERY boggy,,,, one of our vehicles found out the hard way,,,,, best if it is crossed to the left of centre heading north...
Chilli Beach blew it's guts out and rained all night which made for interesting driving the next day in that black clay...
The
Pascoe River on The
Frenchmans Track is quite crossable...
Because of the late wet and the warmer than normal waters you may even catch a Barra.... We caught several..
