Am I on the wrong planet? that would get you nowhere in the bush! 240kms out of a tank????

no suprise but the GU beat the GXL Cruiser...

First question, why would you be in low range in sand? Easiest way to dig yourself in that I know!

Allyn said it.

Hi Range is not always the best option, or sometimes cant be used in an area.

Yrs back I could have shown you some tracks back home until they were closed that were twisting and winding, low was the only option.. Speed works in the open, but not in closed 1/4s....

I'm with Allyn

Whenever i get bogged in high range i only usually get out by digging and then burning up some fuel in low range 1st.

Yeah, and Toyota have the hide to put that double page add in the mags showing you can walk half the way whan you run out of fuel if you have a Patrol. Michael

From memory it was 47 for the toyota and 54 for the patrol.

I knew I made the right choice with the standard diesel

Long live Diesels!

Just so i get my 10 cents worth as well.,................

I found low range worked best in deep sand where extra consistant grunt was needed......
Sand seems to rob horsepower badly........_____________________________________________

Where these days can you go where you would be in low range for 240kms. With no other options. Me thinks those days are long gone.

But I would love to be proved wrong.

There was an article in Yota Mthly while bnack of some bloke that had followed some Explorers trails from somewhere in WA, they were away for 2 weeks, totally self sufficent, carried fuel the lot. You would need a BTrain to get anywhere with that economy.... ;)

the car actually got an award from the mag, best touring wagon or sometihgn like that of the year.
