Ray,

When I travelled to Broome in July 2001, I had repairs and service
done on my GU at Ampol Shinju Motors. They are a Nissan service agent
in Broome. Repairs included replacement of broken fan blades, water
pump and sender unit from auxillary tank. I contacted them from
Hall's Creek and the parts were shipped overnight from Perth. The
water pump damage was discovered when installing the fan, and once
again the parts arrived promptly.

I found these guys extremely helpful and accomodating, with an
excellent customer service attitude and workmanship. Our trip was
only varied from our intended itinerary by two days thanks to them.

Sorry don't know of a Nissan service agent in Derby.

Regards,

Barry.

I had my 300Tdi Discovery serviced by Shinju Motors during my 1998 Kimberley trip and found them to be excellent - was just a basic filters and fluids service but was well done. Cost me $180.Kevin - sitting here, thinking of there

Can only endorse the previous comments. Had my Nissan serviced there in July 2002, excellent service. Enjoy your trip, lucky bugger.

Raymond,

I live in Derby and have our work GU Nissans serviced and repaired by Derby 4x4 & Marine. Tel 08 9193 1919. Competent, helpful and reliable. Experts on Toyota's and carry common parts for Toyota & Nissan.

Parts supply from Perth will be a bit faster in Broome as there are daily direct flights. Kununurra also has a Nissan dealer and probably supplied via Darwin.

Shinju are factory accredited service agents for Nissan and Land Rover (probably some others as well). Believe it or not there are a couple of gurus around for older Land Rovers as well, so those L-R Series 1,2,3 and 110 fans can visit the West Kimberley in total confidence someone is around who really knows their stuff.

There is also an excellent mobile mechanic operating on the western end of the Gibb River Road. Name is Neville, can usually be contacted via the Imintji Community Store or the VKS-737 operator.

Have fun!
