I've just bought a Pajero 93 V6 3.0 liter. When driving more than 80 km/h I experience strong vibrations on the steering wheel. I'm looking at buying new tyres and hope that balancing and wheel adjustment solves the problem. Has anyone experienced the same and knows if that should fix it?? Or is there another well known problem?

Thomas, you are heading in the right direction with wheel balance, I would also strongly recommend a wheel alignment when the tyres are new as well. One more thing though, when you are having your new tyres fitted, get the dealer to closely check the wheels for out of round, as just a small dent can cause quite a bad vibration and this can easily be overlooked. Happy trails, Mike.

What about tie-rod ends, bushes in front suspension, shockers etc. Maybe check all this beforehand. Also have a reputable alignment place do your front wheels 'cos there are some shims behind the shocker towers that affect the camber(?) if your torsion bars have been tweaked by yourself or the previous owner.
