Thanks to all who replied and advised against taking canoes to the Cape. I suspected as much and yet it doesn'y hurt to ask.

Rest assured the kayak stays at home!

After seeing how far they come out of the water for a chook on the end of a stick 3 metres from the waterlevel, (and heres me looking at it from behind bulletproof glass) i wouldnt be in a tinny let alone a canoe, but... the crock only is interested if you are swimming round in his domain. Maybe you are as safe as the canoe is stable...
