gday i have brought a magnum winch +arb bbar,whilst reading the operators manaul i noticed it says if winch becomes submerged in water it has to be fully serviced asap and replace control box.i also noticed that the warranty is by warn.do warn
winches have the same warnings them.should i remount control box under the bonnet,any help would be appreciated thanks dave

Recently bought a Warn XD9000 and dont recall reading anything that extreme.
Have been told to run winch ASAP though to dry out any water in the motor and prevent anything seizing.
Is it Magnum or Brawn
winches that say they are waterproof?? I guess obviously not Magnum if they print that!!!!

I heard they are made by Warn to combat the flood of cheapos. Obviously sounds righht given what your book says. Under your bonnet and high as possible sounds like a good idea for your control box (also short cuts the vandals). Maybe investigate the waterproofing methods that some competition guys use. Does a dunking include rain? - do you have to run it every time it rains???????
