Andrew
Thinking about getting an audible alarm fitted to the Patrol.
I think the factory immobiliser security unit is OK to stop people stealing the car but I want something to 'SCREAM' if the morons get in just to steal what's inside.
Has anyone got or can anyone recommend a reliable unit that won't kill the wallet.
cheers

We have a repeller unit that has seen some v. tough k's @50 000 of central desert dirt roads and have had no real problems only ones were the bonnet trip switch has come off (couple of bucks to replace) and the unit was sent back after it was playing up which they fixed for free - It went for a big swim, put it this way, the bow wave was 1/4 of the way up the windscreen.
If I was to fit it again I would get a trip switch on the fuel cap door, but thats our areas little problem.
It doesn't get much use but we are still v. happy.

gday andrew.
not sure where you are but stratfield car radios do all our alarms(if a customer wants one).
they sell from the mild to the wild but usually the simple ones can do the basics.
scream if your doors ect are opened.looking foward to september(landcruiser park/fraser island)
