Maybe it's just 'campfire' chat- but I've been advised that a megaPulse type unit can play havoc with the operation of a compressor type fridge.
Also, it will create hetrodynes (whistles) in HF (especially) and UHF radios??
Any Mythbusters out there- using this type of device- care to comment...

I know of one incident where such a device rendered HF radio totally unusable.

I have not tested the Megapulse brand but the Sulfarid does not effect fridges in any way and only generate a high frequency pulse when they are receiving charge.

I would like to know if the Sulfarid does create any noise on HF radio but it definitely won't if the engine is switched off. Please email me if you own one of my Sulfarids and have any issues with noise as this will help with product development.

Regards

Derek.

Your sulfarid units look good Derek, I have just ordered one from your site.

I am going to use it on my normal battery but I before instaling it I am going to let it have a shot at a dodgy gell cell I have.

Cheers

Pete

Hi Signman

I have had a megapulse in 2 x 4wd ive owned Rodeo and Troopy which both had UHF ,HF and a Fridge ,laptops, GPS ,Tyre Sensor and have never had a problem and i might say it has made the 2nd battery last heaps longer than normal the one in my camper is 6 years old and still going strong

Most of these devices do say they may cause interference to radio gear, wouldn't imagine that it worry the frig in the slightest. Not hard to turn it off or disconnect it if it causes too much noise. Most things will interfere with HF, we usually only use HF when stopped with engine off, GPS off, frig off etc etc to maximise reception.

Had 1 for years, does its job well, but can hear it pulsing on am radio, not a worry for me as its only just audible, but keeps my batteries good.

I have one megapulse and move it around the vehicles.

Dunno about the Megapulse, but most fridges will affect HF radio!

I think when people say the Megapulse will affect the fridge they are getting a bit confused..............
