Howdy folks...

How's things?

I'm sure this has been crouched many times before but I cant find many previous topics...

I lost my last cruiser in a flood so i need 2 get another trusty Tojo. Looking at 80 series. Tempted by diesel (had petrol/gas before with a 2F) but the costs of diesel fuel have got me thinking gas again, provided I can find a reliable gas conversion.

I've found a very well maintained 1995 80 series cruiser with gas (1FZ-FE which seems a good motor) with 1 owner/ full service history. It has been fitted with a system which starts the motor on petrol every time & with owners good maintenance, it has never had any probs/ needed heads replaced. it has 300k on clock. the rest of vehicle is spotless with many extra's/ trimmongs. The power of the 1FZ-FE motor sounds awesome.asking ~ 15k...

I'd otherwise consider the 1HDFT diesel but I cant seem to find many & they seem very expensive...

Any thoughts??

Cheers in advance...

I have a 93 ser 80 on gas. It was installed at 70,000 and has now done 270,000 It starts on petrol and the automatically changes to gas. It has done two trips around Oz towing a 17'6" caravan. It is an auto. I have had the transmission serviced three times and have regularly changed the oil and changed the s/plugs four times. They are a bit heavy on fuel and there is very little noticeable difference in power between gas and petrol but I do change to petrol when towing in hilly country. They also have much more power than their diesel counterpart.

Hi Rowen check your last post thread id 53156, as i replied to 5/1/08.
And try searching various combinations like 4.5 1Fze ,or 80 series on lpg etc etc. there is a lot to look at.
Look at the price of lpg it is becoming less of an option very quikly.
and you use the best part of 1/3 more plus of the stuff.
I only ever made one mistake
and that's when I thought I was wrong!
