Evening all,
I'm in the market for a new mobile as my N70 Nokia has just died .(still got 12 months contract to go) My phones do cop a hard time, but I do remember the days when a phone was a phone my favourite was the Nec P3. Anyway wanted your opinions.
Thanks
Graeme

I certainly would not recommend my Nokia . I have stuffed two of them just giving them a clean .
The girl in the Telstra shop reckoned the washing mashine buggered them , but reckon it was the tumble dryer .

G'Day Greame,

SWMBO went through three phones in three months a while back. After that I got her a Nokia 5100 series phone, the one with the rubberised case.

She still managed to break several cases and put cracks in the screen, but the phone itself lasted two years.

That's good enough for me

If your phones tend to cop a hard time, you could always just get a cheap second hand one off ebay or something, that way if they die, it's no great loss.
I know Telstra were making a phone that sort of replaced the nokia 5100, but its made by a company called ZTE.

It is a chunky handset, but it may be what you are after.

I have one of those 158's, its on its second recall! They are manure. Google for ZTE phones, it aint pretty...

I'd love a old school 5110 that worked on CDMA.

I dont think there is anything such as a "STRONG" phone anymore, its too costly for them.

Definitely my Nokia 5140i in the rubber case. I take it fishing with me, its been drenched in salt water quite a few times and still going. All my phones have been carried in my shorts front pocket during work time which is physical and sweaty otherwise I forget the phone on the job. Its my first phone that can take all the sweat. Cant see screen in the sun very well though. My friends 2yo son even dropped his phone in the loo, he took it out dried it overnight and it still worked. Shock proof, sometimes if I drop it the speaker wont work, it only lets out a small beep so I just turn the phone off and turn it on again and its all good again. If they still sell them I would buy another straight away, but I think mine will keep going for a long time still. I always ask salespeople from different stores as to which phone is the most reliable and see which one gets mentioned the most often and I only buy Nokia.
Good luck

I also have one of these and so does my son-in-law who is a Dairy Farmer who is real hard on phones.

The 5140i are hard to kill and splashproof - well going by the last post waterproof but don't quote me on that.

Good phone, not the prettiest but works well
