Can anyone advise how to remove the plastic cover surround to the auto shifter on my 74 series cruiser as i want to replace the indicator light. I have undone the screws both sides that locate the surround however there is something still holding it down. I have checked but there are no other visible fixings. It may be a clip or something else that i can't see but i don't want to force it and break something.

above the shifter is two red plastic covers 'AT' & something else. carefully with a sharp object pry the cover off this will reveal two phillips head self tappers.also there is two more screws at the top of the T bar front & back remove them to detach the Tbar this will allow you to take the cover all the way off exposing the fiddlly little globes.

Thanks Slug. I did look at those but they are fairly
well fixed so i decided to be cautious.
