I have searched Google and found everything but.

Could someone please tell me where can you find the list of codes for Toyota so when you have a code # to investigate you can relate to it.....

Thanks in advance to all

Thanks Allan H......are these numbers Toyota specific or do all car manufacturers use them as standard?

Cheers

I believe OBD 2 codes established standardisation across vehicles.

If the vehicle is OBD 2 compliant then these codes should be them.

OBD2 codes are NOT standadised ..
there is an independent subset which covers the basics but then there are heaps of manufacturer specific ones .. also OBD2 unlike OBD1 is not even physically identical between vehicles for extended manufacturer specific coding. GM .e.g has the CAN bus for faster live data trasmission. My TechII for my GMC read over 6000 signals and codes.
the list above is an extended list as far as I see it and not a list of basic codes, but I can be wrong on that. Am not and expert on OBD2 as such .. just know my vehicle and the diagnostic system I own for it. It was one of the reasons I never by a Jap or French 4WD because the diagnostic hardware and software is not readily available.
I would be interested in the list and a reader for a Nissan 4800 petrol myself, but have not yet tried hard to find a simple reader and codelist.
regards

thanks...but I am starting to feel like this is a can of worms.....it is obviously more diificult than I thought, otherwise a vehicle specific list would have surfaced by now.....

maybe the basic codes are shared but then some manufacturers add specific ones of their own...which is not helpful if they will not release them

Bungarra,

In Toyota's repair manuals they are called Diagnostic Trouble Codes. You just need to find the manuals for your vehicle.

You could also try http://www.obd-codes.com/ or http://www.customcarputers.com/. Plenty of info on those sites.
