I have another question about Burdekin falls camping. Are there powered sites available there?

Yes, Powered Sites some with shade, good
toilet block, plenty of water both in the
dam and for drinking (they have the sprinklers running 24/7. but fish did not co-operate.

hey amanda,
did you ring the
ranger to find out the price for camping?, if so how much was it out of curiosity. i don't remember it being expensive when we were there in 2006, i do remember all the peacocks roaming around the
campground though, my daughter loved them. also remember the huge eagle on the road in to the
dam, we pulled up to take pics of it but unfortunately it stayed just that bit to far away from us. have now seen 3 different ones when out west, and am amazed at just how big they get every time.

It doesn't really matter anymore as we were going to go there this weekend but all the roads were blocked due to the torrential rain on Friday/Saturday. We are going to try going out for a day trip today but don't know if we will get through.

Hi rumpig, made it to the
dam to see it in full flow (AWESOME!) and current prices are $10 per night unpowered or $15 per night powered. $5 p/n extra person, children under 10 are free. We saw a few emus roaming around and a couple of dingoes that ran into the bush as we passed. The
dam was a magnificent sight. We could see the spray from the
lookout before you reach the
