This is a great little trek through the heart of the high country taking in Mount Stirling and the excellent diversions from the loop road that tracks around the mountain.

This is a great little trek through the heart of the high country taking in Mt Stirling and the excellent diversions from the loop road that tracks around the mountain.

I believe that the Summit Trail over Mt Stirling is now closed, with vehicles directed down Monument Track back to Circuit Rd. Additionally several of these huts listed have been destroyed by wildfire during Xmas/New Year 2006. While Craig's Hut has been rebuilt, I believe that Mt No. 3 Refuge Hut and Bus Huts have not been rebuilt.

THE TRACK FROM CRAIGS TO HOWQUA GAP HUT IS OR WAS OPEN COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, THIS TRACK IS CALLED CLEAR HILLS TRACK

Yes the track from Craigs hut over Mt Stirling is open and is called Clear Hills Track which ends up on Mt Buller Rd near Sawmill. I imagine thats what you mean???
Was on it in late Jan this year.
