Geez, never thought about trek notes for here.
Lived here for 5 years, been on a few treks to the Highlands, Isle of Skye, Loch Ness (of course!!).
Heaps to see here but the traffic is usually pretty frenetic not nice and quiet like Great Central Road or the Nullabor.

Hi Guys,
Let David know by email or member message if you have any consistent problems with speed. Noting the pages that are slow and the time they are slow. (Also let him know which browser you are using).
However please check that the net in your area is not slow at a particular time of day.
Just for your info.
The whole site is being converted to .aspx which is many steps up the evolutionary ladder from .html and .asp. (You can see the .aspx in your address bar at the top of your page to know if you are viewing a converted page)
This conversion is so the site, among other things, can handle unlimited traffic. It is hosted by the best servers in Australia.
So any slowdowns will be short lived while maintenance is carried out
The site has well over 40,000 pages of info so it is possible that some pages may be currently under conversion, still running older code or running slow because of the mix of old and new code till the conversion is complete.
You may be interested to know ExplorOz ranks in the top 5 of all Automotive websites (Neilsen Net Ratings Dec 07) so we are right up there with the best.

I am not experiencing any slowdowns. (in Qld)

hope this helps
