I'm planning to fit after-market springs (rear only) and shocks to better handle fully loaded off-road use, but which ones ?
There are many brands out there, and no doubt many personal opinions and experiences, but do you generally get what you pay for, or are there lemons and overpriced brands to avoid ??

Well I would only use .........because my mates, cousin said he heard someone tell his wife that X brand was way better then Z brand at only half the cost.
OME, TJM, and most other brands are good its personal choice.

In my Gu wagon I have OME progressive rate rear coils and standard front coils as a 2" lift towing pack.

I'm very happy with my Pedders springs. Extra h/duty constant load. They are excellent quality, i think they actually manufacture
the springs for OME (i know monroe make shocks for them). Very stable towing loads, and minimal sag.
Go for constant load. OME are good but seem more expensive than others (even than the companies that make them). But you generally get what you pay for and you want to be happy with
suspension or you will want to get rid of it soon after.

Contacted them , they said this was normal to allow for drivers weight - obviously at 96kg I am not heavy enough

Get a set of load assist air bags and have the original springs re-set. As for shocks, Koni on the rear.

Hi Bic,
Had OME on the 60 Series for a long time, there is a post on this site where I outlined my situation. ATM I'm not trying to find it..... sorry.
However, had a set of Blue Max put under our Suzuki and a set of HD Blue Max put under the rear of the 60. Much improved!!
OK, I'll bite.............. please tell us what type of vehicle?.... after market mods?.........ball weight of CT?....... something to help us.... to help you.
Cheers,
Wayne.
PS My/we/our 80 has Pedders
suspension fitted. At this point in time we have not tried it off road or with the CT in tow.

I put 50mm 'over standard' Dobinson Springs, HD Dobinson Shocks and Air-Bag Man coil bags and HD Dobinson steering dampener in my 2003 4.8 GU TI. Love that ride. Total was $1400 (supply only). I fitted myself. They have been in for 8 months (with inimal towing) but look and feel great.

Hi Wayne,
It's a 2007 Rodeo 3LTD, already have air Polyair bellows, no other mods yet. It carries about 5-700Kg of TT camper (no trailer), and I'd like a little more height (~40-50mm) and better springs/shocks than standard, not so much for load carrying, but for ride/compliance.
Cheers,
Nic
