Howdy all, Last week, I can't remember who, but somebody recommended a ferret tyre deflator. It arrived today, and must say I am very impressed. Reckon you could just about air down 4 tyres in the time it takes you to screw your Stauns on,
well not quite. but close. Have no association with the manufacturer, just letting you know of a great product, and only around $20.00
Cheers Krakka

yep they are different. i brought mine form the inventor, many years ago. have now switched to stauns, mainly because someone was always talking to me when I was trying to time the deflate.
cheers Tom

The ferret is a Class 1 declared pest animal, and as such is a prohibited pet in Queensland. Other Australian states also have restrictions on keeping ferrets as pets. The fine for keeping a ferret is a maximum $60 000.
So you better stick to the tyre deflater type

Hi Andrea II, Put tyre deflators as a search on ebay. Made in WA. You only need 1, not a set.
Cheers

Hi to all ...........
Have an enquiry re these 'Ferrets,' just to satisfy my curiosity ?
A set of Stauns [ have a set mesel' ] will take your tyres down to a pre-determined level. Irrespective of whatever pressure is in them at the time IE: no need to use your pressure gauge at all.
Wouldn't you therefore need to use your pressure gauge to ascertain the existing pressure, BEFORE you used your Ferret to count-down to your now REQUIRED pressure ??
One would generally assume [ yes, I know !! ] that your ORIGINAL tyre pressure would change somewhat, from when you began your trip, due to heat build-up, time on road, etc .....
Thusly, wouldn't you need to know your CURRENT pressure in order to drop them to your NEW pressures ?
Genuine enquiry ..... really .... be gentle ???

Thats true, but don't you check your pressures after using the stauns. You should be. I had many probs with an early set of stauns and I wasn't going to spend $70 on a new set to see how good they are now. Staun wouldn't give me a "trade in " on my old useless ones so I chose a different product.
