Googs Track Feedback

We did the track in July august 07 from south to north. Good camp site at Googs lake. Track gets rougher towards Mt Finke. Tops of sand dunes are dug up in spots. MT Finke excellent place to camp and climb. make sure you have a UHF and a flag with you. Watch for traffic coming the other way. It was my first 4x4 trek and i had a ball. Take enough fuel and water to get to Glendambo. Tarcoola is a ghost town and only has a pub.

Hi patrolman
We were up that way in July last year also. The southern side of the dunes towards the top section were very cut up from people that DO NOT know how to drive in sand. It is still a very easy trip and cannot be compared to a Simpson or other desert Crossing. Next time if I did the same trip, I would come from the North down. Even though it not the recommended way by the National Parks and Wildlife, coming from the north would be far better any easier to drive down the cut up dunes.

Cheers

Stephen
