Hi all. Need to replace a
camp light. I'm after a free standing type, 12 volt rechargable. The last one I bought from a hardware wasn't very
bright.(Nor was the person who pinched it from me but left the charger for it behind!) I wish you could turn them on and try them in the shops but they never seem to be charged up. If anyone can recommend a good brand? Ta

I bought one of the Coleman fluros. There are lots of Coleman models, but
mine throws more light than the others.
It is called the 'Retro'. Unfortunately it only comes in red.
It runs for @ 9 hours and re-charges of 12v & 240v.
It has two light levels plus a small night lighgt that would be great with kids.
I am very happy with it.
Cheers, Dalb

Thanks Dalb - this sounds the go. Any idea where you got it from and how much you paid. I have limited choice shopping here and may need to order over the phone.

I bought
mine from Boots Camping in
Adelaide. I paid $99, less discount, about 12 months ago. Since then I have seen them advertised for about $79, but i cant remember where - try Snowys or Rays Outdoors.
Be carefull to get the red coloured one, with the spiral fluro globe, named 'Retro' - as there are other similar Coleman ones, but they either do not have both 12 & 240 charging or, have tube globes that do not emit as much light.
The Retro is superb for fishing.
Cheers, Dalb
