Is the Useless Loop road OK to take a caravan on. Hoping to take a 23 foot van to Wumbathama
Well for a bit of fishing.

I was camped at
Hamelin Pool last year and went for a drive down the Useless Loop Road as far
Tamala Station from memory it was pretty good gravel. I didn't go into Wumbathama
Well mainly because I thought it was a private road. Anyway I'm sure you would have no trouble getting to the turnoff but after that I have no idea what the track is like.
I'd give
Tamala Station a call.

I lived on
Hamelin Pool for a number of years in the 70's, and also did aerial mustering on
Tamala.
Have been back many times with a variety of caravans to
Tamala, Prickly Point and Birribugidda, but not in the last 7 years. Had no problems but took it easy over the corrugations.
There was a couple of sand patches going into Birribuggida though.
Never heard of Wumbathama
Well. Is this something that has been renamed, or a new spot that is now accessible.
I would be interested to know if
Tamala still allow camping now and what the costs are.
Cheers
Phil
