I am having problems exporting maps...if I try to export any maps bigger than about 50K (the size of export current view, when you go to a 250K sheet etc) it comes up "not responding" and wants to close down. And the ones I can load I have to go to Load & Calibrate Map Image format to do it. Is this the normal way to export these maps? (I have a reg copy of Natmap and Ozi)
Cheers Bruce.

It takes ages because of the detail.
go to export it then go have dinner. depending how long it takes depends on how zoomed out you are. It will say not responding when it is processing heavily- just be patient.

Isuzumu,
Export from NATMAP Raster Premium goes something like this:

In the Raster package - Export current view and follow the prompts as follows:
Export- select "Geotiff"
Compression - select "none"
Resolution: chose the one that you want. The lower the resolution the poorer the final quality and the quicker it will export. Trial and error here to work out your preference.
Its here you tell the software where you want to store the exported geotiff image.

In Ozi: Under the "File menu"
Import map
Select Single DRG or if you have more than one, All DRG's on a CD or folder then locate where you stored the exported folder and follow the prompts. No need to calibrate the imported map. Its already calibrated.

Generally I've found if you are trying to export a file too large for the memory it will refuse to work and give a message saying not enough memory or words to that effect.

If I'm tellling you how to suck eggs sorry. I wasn't sure how much you knew.

regards
Toolman
