Just looking for ideas as to where we can safety store our satellite dish when we are mobile as we want to incorporate it in the construction of our van. I don't want to have it on our bed each night or have to be moved to have a cuppa. My preference is on the rear tyre carrier any photos of your ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks David but we don't want to move it all the time we are looking for outside storage. As with our old van we want to stop this moving everything we stop for lunch.

Hi Elross

These pics are of someone else's rig where the sat dish travels against the spare tyre. It swings out for use so it secure neat and convenient.

This would not fit our van and we don't have sat tv.

Do you have a caravan park near you where you could go and see what other people do? While some use the bed, many have built on carriers.

Thanks .Yes looking at other caravan parks is a good idea. What do you think about mounting about it behind the rear tyre rack as I'm looking for a place for storage only.

Thanks this is another good idea.
Do you know how they travel with the vibrations on the back of the bumper.I realize I store the sensitive parts in the van.
Thanks again for your photo

Better make sure your number plate is not in the centre of the van.

Has travelled there now for 4 years over corrugations. No movement whatsoever.

The Sat Dish itself is attached to a 10" piece of pipe which then slips into the centre pole you see in the pic. A hole has been drilled right though, and this has a pin with a lock. So very secure.

To set it up, just remove the lock, pin and slip it off the support bar and straight onto a tripod with the same type of attachment. Easy and quick. Can provide a more detailed close-up photo if required.
