Oldsquizzy (Kununurra)

Was wandering through the bush up on the Keep today and saw this beehive. The temptation of crumpets and honey nearly overcame the beauty of it. Looks like more jam for a while yet...

Bees are Australian bush bees and not aggressive type at all. But still, better to leave them alone as one never know.....

looks more like a feral european honeybee hive to me.
environmental disaster those things except it doesnt get talked about like cane toads

yep, agree with Davoe. Way too big for bush bees, and the native bird population for example is suffering terribly due to these taking over nesting holes in trees.

Hope it was a native bee hive not a man made type. To interfere with another man's livelyhood is just not on - especially in the bush where it can be bl@#$y difficult to make a dollar.
