Here's one for the trackRanger and Ozi users and please pardon my ignorance here but I'm just getting my teeth into the computer based nav programs. With the constant improvement in resolution of images on Google earth, is there anything that would preclude you from loading the photographs in Jpeg format into Ozi or TrackRanger to be utilised as a map? You would surely be able to insert enough reference points into the photo's before downloading or printing them, to then use the programs calibration system to align them. Is is possible and is anyone doing/done it?
Thanks. Mick

Hi Mick
I imported some images last year from Google for real time moving map situations. In the end I didn't think it was worth it but here is was I did.
In Google Earth save the image as a JPG using File, Save etc.
Import the file into Oziexplorer and select Load and Calibrate Map Image.
Use as many fixed known points as you can to calibrate but if not many then
check "Polynomial Calibration for Map" in the Map Advanced Options.
Hope this helps.
Alan.
