The stage is now set for the July excursion to reclaim the Flag for Trevor.
I spent the weekend in St George getting some stuff organised to take to Innamincka and have the trailer loaded with firewood.

It is only a small load

We ended up cutting about 4 trailer loads over 2 days but I could only fit so much in, It is stacked and in various size LOL
I don't think Mum will be cold for a while with all the surplus that we had cut.

We spent Thursday night camped on the northern bank of the Balonne River in Surat, The camping area there is in good order and the caravanners that were there had been catching a few fish and yabbies.

Yesterday we went and got some raffle prizes in St George. I ended up with a Condamine Bell from Riversands Winery
see here for details

I also scored an empty commerative stockmans water bagsimilar to this

I also picked up a few other items to add to the prizes and a few people have mentioned that they may add to the collection when I pass through St George on the way to Innamincka.

We came home via Roma today and went along the Taroom-Roma road. It is currently in fair condition with road works being done along the dirt/gravel sections. They have graded 40% of the dirt and they remainder is corrogated and rutted.

In all it was a great weekend away and now I'm looking forward to July.

Cheers Kev

Trevor,

What you have failed to see is that that trailer is one of three that I am going to tow out there ha ha ha
That load of wood weighs around a ton and is stacked about 4 layers high.

If we run out of wood maybe we could burn a few mexican flags?? ;)

Cheers Kev

Kev, I think you are a very wise person in emptying the stockmans waterbag of all that Muscat. I hate to think what would happen to Willem if he got his hands on it.

You are doing a great job Kev. The wine I mentioned last week has arrived so have 12 bottles of red to offer as prizes to go with whatever else can be provided. As said last week, I'll bring along as much wood as I can fit on the boat rack of the Trak Shak - some longer pieces perhaps. I'll be checking up on the horseshoe situation today.
I'm starting to get excited about the trip - thinking about all the stuff I have to get done to the Nissan - fit Toyota recovery gear, fresh air in tyres, NSW flag fittings, more EO stickers etc etc.

Cheers

Is the recovery gear so that us Yota drivers can pull you out?? cause we never carry any cause we don't get stuck LOL

The only horse shoes I found were from a shetland pony I reckon, they were tiny ha ha ha

Fit as many flags as you can cause we will need something to start the fires with ;)

Cheers Kev

I still have to sort out some prizes for the fishing comp - will only be small stuff for the kids and perhaps wine or similar for the big kids. Damm time is flying by soooo fast I cannot believe that we will be gathered at Innamincka in only a few weeks time.

Cheers
