See here
Although there is a small amount of firewood organised can attendees try and bring a tiny amount of firewwod with them to help ward off the cold :)
Also please bring some small change (gold coins) to buy tickets etc for the raffles etc.
Cheers Kev

Kev,
Try as I might, I cannot seem to find a way that is going to enable me to be at Innaminka for the "official" days of the get together. Why???
Well, I've said all along that I want to do a Simpson Crossing during the 2 weeks of the school holidays.....the get together is smack bang in the middle to end of the 1st week of said hols....
So..... (1).... if we went to Innaminka first and didn't leave until the Sunday, then the trip to
Birdsville, across the Simpson and then back
home, is gunna be too rushed for us.
(2).... what we now plan to do (tentatively) is go up to Dalhousie and then across the
Rig Road etc to
Birdsville,
Cordillo Downs and Coongee Lakes, then into Innaminka...but we wouldn't be there until the middle of the 2nd week of the school holidays (which is after the EO gathering is over).
Too bad I guess, but it's just the way the mop flops sometimes.....
Cheers
Roachie

I'll be in
Innamincka on the Tuesday night (8th) if that fits your schedule, I'll look after your excess firewood LOL.
Cheers Kev

Roachie,
Good chance, I will be there for the two weeks of the school hols (QLD) which means I will be around Innaminka for at least a week before the gathering dates.
Unless of course the Mrs pulls out and I end up doing a mad dash 2 days before the gathering and rushing straight
home on the Sunday or Monday after the gathering. A thought I do not wish to entertain at this stage.
So if you go Innaminka first, then the Simmo, I may still catch up with you, if not, enjoy your trip and we will see you again sometime soon.
Cheers Trevor.

We've pulled out too. Call us a victim of the high price of diesel. Even sold the fourby.

Sounds like there will be too many dogs for us. I mean..........how much 1080 can one vehicle carry???
When you lot can sort out a non dish licking get together you might work out how to get everyone together. The irresponsible few ruin it for the majority.

"When you lot can sort out a non dish licking get together....."
Easy to do, just put finger to keyboard and get one going in the mebers gathering section..........oh that's right, non-members can't do this can they.....bit harder for you then.
Have a nice day.
Trevor.

Hey Ozgeorge.
If you were to organize a gathering, you wouldn't need a large area, reason being is that with an attitude like the one you have, I don't see to many people coming.
I am sure you will be sadly missed at Innaminka. But doubt it.
Cheers Steve.

G'day Ozgeorge,
Mate, I made the mistake of bringing up the subject of the dish-lickers in a previous post and got firmly put in my place by all and sundry as to how nice everybody's dogs are and that they won't be a nuisance etc etc.
It really is (thankfully) a free country and those with dogs are welcome to take them where-ever they please (except national parks I think?), and those of us without dogs are free to choose to stay away......
That's what I love about this country....... I wouldn't want to live anywhere else on earth.
As for the idea of having a gathering with no doggies in attendance.....there's no reason why this can't be arranged. I reckon you'd get a fair sort of turn out to such a gathering too, but I couldn't organise a p!ss up in a brewery, so it'll have to be up to someone with better skills than me. hahahaha

George there is no way a group particually of this size can all get everyone together anyway. The organizers of this trip have done a great job choosing a location central and easily accessible to most people with plenty of options to extend their trip further. As a regular trip leader I find those who choose not to come for petty reasons will often make excuses not to be there & probably had no real intention of going in the first place. By having dogs this time a few like yourself may decide not to go but in turn has most likely has allowed a dozen others to come.
Having a dog
free camp is simple to organize, just meet at a National Park :-)
Cheers Craig..................

A quick memo to those going, the
toilets out front of the servo and pub at
Innamincka are free, but you need a $2 coin for a 4 minute shower.
Take your gold coins for raffle tickets and showers if you plan on using them.
Cheers and have a good time.

...and for those wanting to use the Public Phones out the front of the pub, you'll need a phone card. These Public Phones do not accept coins, and when I was there last year the
shop only had $20 phone cards in stock.

Nah Bruce - just an ordinary Public Telephone phone card. You can get these cards from most news agencies, etc.
Have a great trip.
