Would anyone in a past life or present know of a way to raise the height of a centre console in a 60 Series Cruiser, so that you can have a arm rest. Maybe to even replace it with some other from a different vehicle. Any help appreciated !

Shane, I have had mine out on a number of occasions and I don't imagine it would be too difficult to make up some sort of spacer to lift it up.
The disadvantage of using the same console would be that you would need to make up some sort of skirt to cover the gap between the bottom of the console and the floor. You would have things disappearing underneath it otherwise.
Good luck.

I'm not familiar with the exact console, but if the top is the right size and just needs to be higher could you make a pad to fix to the top, something fairly dense like neoprene - can buy it fairly thick probably half inch, glue a few layers together. Wouldn't be so good if the lid opens sideways though, may foul on the seats.
Need to make something like that up for the gq, the top is real hard and gives the elbow a hard time on long trips.

Thank's Fella's. Might take the lid off the console & go down to the Wreckers & see if they have something that may be able to bolt or screw on to the top of it. Preferably with a soft lid. This in turn would make it a double console like you see in some vehicles these days. It's a wonder there was never a aftermarket mod at some time from some accessory place, but then again there may have been all those years ago.

What if you have the lid upholstered at a higher level.

The wreckers are your best friend if you have an old toyota . Just make sure you do your homework and measure up first .

Shane,

Try contacting the Department of the Interior.

They are on the Princess Highway at Carlton in NSW. They don this kind of stuff all the time. Not cheap but I am pretty sure they would be able to help you out

Link didn't work, but Google'd them & got a result. Yes ! they do have them, bit pricy ($430 - $480), but will give them a ring to get the height figures & make a decision. Thanks !
