garman & shonky maps

hi all am still learning . can some one tell me about shonky mps please. are they free , where are they found , what garman gps uses them , are they easy and pretty accurate . any advice would be great , cheers

If you pop over to this forum, GPS Australia, you'll get all the info you need in answer to your question. You can actually download from the websirte (takes a long time) or for the cost of a DVD and postage, the GPS shop will send it to you.

Theyre free zacc and u can downlkoad them and install them on your garmin GPSMAP units (i.e. GPSMap60 or 76 or 276 and theyll prolly go on the Nuvi series also.

Just back from the Outback Challenge north of broken hill I found them to astonishingly accurate down to the fences on stations, I plotted waypoints from the GPS to shonky working on the laptop and they were spot on. I am impressed with them
