It is really good, just try to find a
well protected spot behind the dunes as the wind can be very strong. Dogs and fires are allowed.
I took my spoiled teenage kids minus wife up there and they had a great fun. Enjoy...

Good luck!!! The winds up here at the moment would probably land your tent on the Williamtown airbase.

don't
camp down near the Lavis Lane entrance as the local richard craniums get on the turps and hoon around on quaddies and 4wd's all night, BTDT, notmuch sleep that night!!!
Spoke to people that live around there and they say it goes on most weekends so a long weekend would be a certainty.

I realised what I'd typed after I sent it!
Realise it isn't all locals but when we come from further afield
Newcastle is local ;-))

Dogs allowed -- fire allowed - behind the fordunes - but you must bring your own firewood -- and stay off the vegetation. make sure you have a current permit - and portable
toilet if
camping
If you want to check the wind conditions first go here
seabreeze link this has wind conditoins for all over australia - i use this too choose a good place to go Kiteboarding ( so i actually look for the wind ) Just up the top on the blue banner section choose Graphs - NSW then Mid north
this will give you a 7 day expected wind - wave height, wind direction and up to the hour wind speed , gusts - just choose a location and the time and it will show the ave wind speed at that time of day
very handy for kiteboarders and wind surfers - but also if you want to avoid high winds --- it was about 30 - 45 knot up there yesterday

As said and in addition
camping is now not allowed more than 100m from the highwater mark. This is being enforced by NPWS who are managing
Stockton Beach on behalf of the Worrimi people.
