I am trying to buy a voltage regulator for a JETMAN 500 Diesel generator. I bought it second hand and it is about 4 years old. The engine nameplate says Type 186, 5.7kw @3000rpm. The alternator is a 240 volt single phase and the nameplate says model 5000, 4.2kw cont 4.8kw max.
The AVR is bolted onto the rear of the alternator under the louvered end cover. It is marked 4kw HQ236 0308 and has encapsulated electronics in an aluminium crescent shaped housing. Can anyone give me a lead on where I might purchace a JETMAN spare part?

Bobken,
Did a google on "replacement generator avr" and got 687 references,
Found Genaust who I used to get an AVR for a Stamford generator once. They have a selection of AVR's, though I didn't see any Jetman ones.
Might be worth checking them out as they may ?? be able to modify another model to suit yours.
www.powersystems.com.au
Otherwise you could get a Markon generator bolted up to the engine, to suit. Don't go for Dunlite, have had a few bad experiences with them.
Good luck,
Hooroo,
Bob.

Thanks Bob, I sent them an email yesterday si I will keep fingers crossed. The previous owner said the gene was bought in Bris or
Ipswich. It may have been branded differently elsewhere so its worth trying a few parts
places. I have sent a photo to 4 suppliers. thanks for your help
