G'day I read on this forum a while back (Cannot find in Archives) about a group of 2 wheel drive vehicles travelling the canning in August.
Does anybody have any further update on this as I will be on the canning in august
Thanks

Hi Johno

I posted the original on this from chamce meeting with a 'raid' organiser on the CSR last year. At that stage I thought it was going to be the whole CSR and GRR. Cars were 2CV Citroens manly oseas visitors with several 4WD support vehicles.

Haven't checked out their website.

Happy travels
Chris

It appears that they are only coming into the CSR at well 5 and then back to Wiluna. They leave Kalgoorlie on 8th August. Apparently the new fee's stopped them

I suspect the odd dune would stop them too if they had attempted it.

This Paj has a note on the pax seat that reads something like this:

* Burnt out clutch (presumably on the big dune with a turn on entry just past them)
* no insurance
* and a date - from memory October, 2007

Of course it is now missing wheel nuts, spare tyre, various odds and ends under the bonnet and from the interior.

Some wag has written a ditty on the pax door:

Some come into the desert unprepared"o"
Others just don't care"o"
This poor bastard
Never lasted
Cos he came out in a Pajero!!
Ole.

Interesting that there is a drawbar from a trailer sitting on the side of the track opposite from someone else's misfortune.
