Nope, it's still rubbish. I was hoping there was a class action against them somewhere because I'd sign up immediately. It's nothing short of fraud.

I'd pretty much come to the same conclusion as Mick, until I read Wayne's useage of Globalstar up the CSR.
I thought that it was supposed to have gotten better ? No?
It's a great pity that their coverage and so called "service" are nothing short of non existant. But I've said that too many times.
Has anyone any knowledge of the Thruya service that is supposed to cover Oz through Optus ?

I had GStar fire up my Sat phone for a trip to Northern WA in May and June and the 4 or 5 times I used the phone had no problems.

I thought I would use the phone more but with a Telstra 165 Next G phone and Broom Stick aerial on the Cruisers roof did not need the Sat phone even when upto 70Km away from small towns.

With Gsat your kids on Telstra myhour can call you for free during their my hour.

I concur with you Peter I used mine constantly (and the bill proves I did even with 50% of the call costs). Used the phone every night over a 14 day period and got coverage. Access wasn't immediate but got full strength usually after no longer than 10 minutes.

If you complain to the telecommunications ombudsman Global Star will offer you a replacement erridium handset in exchange.
It appears they only do it if you get serious.
