Has any one else had this from an insurance company?
Had a small accident in the wife's car scraped the back guard on a post in a club car park, minor damage but being a new car got it fixed trough insurance.
Paid insurance excess, no loss of no claim bonus as have a lifetime no claim bonus.
The CTP comes in it is nearly double an extra $300.
Contact the insurance company who said that I was a bad driver because I had a claim, that the pole could have been a person.
Got quotes from other insurance companies no extra cost.
So changed insurance.
When the house insurance came in checked for quotes from other companies same cover $300 cheaper.
This is after the no claim bonus, loyalty bonus , multi policy bonus, and being a good bloke from the company the we have insurance with for the last 40 years.
Check around for all you insurances as you can save hundreds of dollars.

Hi Ted.
There was a similiar post a few weeks ago regardingNRMA.
It appears loyalty is a thing of the past with insce companies.
Where you insured with NRMA?
Cheers.

Yes after having 5 rental properties 2 cars, Caravans, Boats, Landlords insurances and other insurances with them this is how you are treated.
They have and will in the future loose a lot more of my business.

Thing that really gets my goat up here is, if they can give you that price when challenged why can't they give it to you normally. In other words they were ripping you off, not a great way to treat a 20 year loyal customer! I am the sort of person that would change companies in this situation.
I become quite a grumpy, cantankerous old bugga in these situations. (The war office says I am like that all the time though.)
OK off my box and time to settle down.

Yep, had the exact same issue with NRMA when wife had a dingle. While we never paid the fine (6 years ago) and said we would see them in court (police) (still waiting) due to the wife been issued with the fine in the first place (and we could prove she wasnt at fault) when the greenslip come in, same as you it was almost doubled. I rang NRMA said they had to go by what the cops said (fair enough) but after explaining the situation to them they also agreed that she shouldnt have been issued with the fine so they reissued with the normal price. I asked why would the greenslip be dearer anyway, he said because you are a liability, I said isnt that why we have comprehensive insurance he said nothing to do with it. I said my wife never claimed through the greenslip for injury isnt that what its for ?? He said yes but still a liability. I remember when they introduced the greenslip and been getting screwed ever since, typical !!!!!!!. Regards Steve M
