They are as aerodynamic as a house brick. Slow the car chronically and dont use it anymore.
I'd go a box trailer next time, but I dont want the hassles of towing things in the bush.

I guess it's horses for courses - I wouldn't be without my roofrack. OK it does impede the aerodynamics a little (my fuel consumption goes from 11.5l/100k to 12.3l/100k when the rack in fitted) but I would much prefer it to dragging a trailer all over the country - especially off the roads. My 2.8tdi GU wouldn't like dragging a trailer up Billy Goats
Bluff et al.

G'day Bonz
Billy Goat's
Bluff is one of the many magnificent tracks in the Victorian High Country. Last time I was there we were fortunate enough to have access to Sambain Chalet for a few days and did a number of tracks: Zeka, Wonnangatta, King Billy's among others. Get yourself a copy of the Hema
Vic High Country Map (available from ExplorOz
Shop) and go to it. Like
Cape York this is a must do for any 4WDriver.

You will have to wait until after
Melbourne cup weekend to do Billy Goats
Bluff as the tracks are closed or under snow.
Check the Parks/DSE offices at Heyfield 51397777 or
Dargo 51401243 for further info.
