hello everyone, seems everyday someone has something negative to say about a product or service, but few take the time to relate a positive experience. i own a trailblazer fridge that is about 14 years old, that i purchased second hand in
adelaide about 7 years ago. when i purchased this fridge for what i thought was a very reasonable cost, i called the manufacturer in
brisbane to ask what may become a problem with this fridge in the future. i was told by a fellow named bruce that the compressor will last forever but the problem may be with the electronic control box. i was also told they only have 2 or 3 left and these are not manufactured anymore and if it goes bad you must change the compressor and another control unit as they are not compatible (expensive). so i purchased the control unit that is compatible with the compressor that is in the unit. again the cost was very cheap compared to the other option. to continue the story i was returning with about 20 kilos of fish in the fridge and the fridge stopped with 5 hours to get
home. purchased a few bags of ice and hoped for the best. this fridge has performed to perfection for 7 years, colder beer in extreme conditions etc. when i returned
home phoned the manufacturer, norcoast in
brisbane, and had the opportunity to speak with the owner, a lady named margaret and explained the situation and was told it was either the thermo or the electric control unit. also was told how to
test for it. they did not ask me to send the fridge for a rebuild. margaret sincerely tried to help me, sometimes unlike others. the problem was the electric control module and the beer in now cold again. i have no relation to this company if in the future(hopefully never) i need a new fridge i would certainly purchase another trailblazer fridge. cheers, robert

Hi Robert,
I fully agree with your comments. I was one of the first to purchace a Trailbazer (60Liter) when they started selling them over 20 years ago &
mine has run trouble free since. Been in some of the harshest temperature conditions in Australia & always kept my beer & food supplies cold or frozen ( whatever setting I run it on) & very economical on the battery current drawing rate too. Cheers

Just this week I received a reply from Trailblaza to a query about their products.
Not only did I get a charming letter from Margaret, but also a pile of information, specs, etc ... AND, to my surprise, a DVD as
well! All sent by guaranteed next day post. I have not yet finished reading it all, or looked at the DVD, but I was most impressed by the service. Margaret wrote: I am contactable every day of the year even Christmas Day.
I'm in the market for a 60 litre fridge. Guess where it might
well come from?
Service. Telstra and the banks please take note.
Cheers, Tony

I'm on my second trailblazer, only because I sold the first with the camper it was in!!!!
The backup is unbelievable, Margaret is one of the true gems.
I've managed to talk a handful of people out of Waeco and Engel and into supporting a genuine good Aussie product.
I would not even consider any other if I were to buy another fridge.

Yep a great family company that has the old fashioned customer service. I have a 8 year old 40litre and it is a great fridge and bullet proof. Margaret knows those things like the back of her hand.

DANFOSS like almost everybody else.
I don't own a Trailblaza, but a mate does and has similar stories about back-up service.
Only two fridges I would consider are both Made In Australia. Pity they can't match to big two for advertising budget

I would like to add my experience of this great Australian company.
About 10 years back i also purchased a used 60lt Trailblazer. After our first trip with it a problem developed that required the electronic control box needing replacement (the previous owner had tampered with it) Trailblazer lucky for me, had a second hand unit in there parts bin & did the install. Whilst they had it, they did a complete
test.
The day before
Easter last year, we packed the fridge into it's position in the truck to chill down only to find that it was not powering up. I preformed all the necessary tests to no avail. By now it was 5.30pm, i took the punt & called Trailblazer to find Margaret. After a short chat, her recommendation was to drop the fridge off to them on the Sunny coast, as we had planned to go to Fraser Island. That was fine but this is
Easter Friday! She said that was no problems. They would meet us at the
gate with a pre chilled 60lt loner (no extra cost) for the time it was to take for them to do a complete overhaul. When we picked our fridge up later, they informed us that the fridge was over 25years old, pre holes in front of units.
If i ever need a different size Trailblazer they will definitely get my money
The product is awesome, and back up service is even better.
