Nissan have parked thousands of unsold new cars on their test circuit in the UK, as normal areas are full & sales plummet. Now
Toyota have hired a 2500 car cap ship to store new Tojos in
Sweden as all available space is full, & sales are in decline. An
American car expert in Detroit estimates that if new car sales
continue at depressed rates, there will be up to 500,000 new 08
plated jobbies left in 2010. He thinks they will be unsaleable &
probably be crushed. Where is it all going ??. No worries in Oz
if you believe Elmer Fudd. Seems those in the market for a newie
would be wise to wait a bit longer yet, used ones are coming down at a rate of knots. If you see what you want...bargain
hard.....cheers....oldbaz.

"Sweden as all available space is full"

Take the bumper bars off the Volvo's, that should create space for at least 5,000 Hyundai's.

"An American car expert "

Now there's an Oxymoron if ever I saw one!

A bit of history, a significant majority of advances in automotive, design over the last 105 years were american. That's quite apart from the concept of mass production, moving assembly line etc etc etc

Japan up until the 60's were producing vehicles of such abject crudeness that they were unsaleable outside Japan.

Just trying to provide a bit of balance:-)

Hi Troppo,

You won't get any argument out of me on that one mate.

The modern Programmable Logic Controller or PLC has its roots in the US car industry. It's now the mainstay of most automated production processes in this world.

Henry made the Model T on a moving production line!

The bit that made me chuckle is with the the hole they've dug they still think the world is looking to them for advice!

And they are still using the same tired management that got them into this mess to start with but asking for government handouts to solve their self created problems!
