My 2002 3litre patrol has 275000k and the clutch has started to slip,my local specialist suggested a replacement solid flywheel plus plate for $1300 plus labour costs,it hasent been removed yet so i dont know the condition of the flywheel.I thought nissans fluid flywheel was designed to reduce vibration,is one better than the other.a heavy duty kit was suggested but the supplier was vague on any benefits, can anyone suggest the best replacement ,thankyou

Pepper,
What an innings!!! - 275K I'd be happy with that! - a work one just completely died whilst driving after 25,000kms!!! Another work one further east has been replaced twice and the truck has done less than 60,000km!!!
Mr NISSAN says that the clutch is not covered in warranty - glad work (or lease company) paid for them.
All ours were replaced with genuine Nissan parts (becasue they have to be)

Tim - Might be worth doing some complaining - a clutch at 25K is not something you would expect. Couple of blokes I know with D40s did their clutches early and after a bit of bitching to Nissan in
Melbourne they got them done under warranty.

I'm pretty sure they tried complaining when the first batch started to destroy clutches - I think they've given up - but might make it easier to go back to Toyota when they are SRS/ABS'ed, hopefully before Xmas.
