Anyone know what the road from Narrabri to Mt Kaputar is like.

Any nasty drop offs?

Someone in our group is driving a commodore, towing a cub drifter, pop up caravan thingy. 2.7m long x 2m wide.

A few but not really an issue imho ......

Plenty of " No Caravan " signs because of narrow sections which would cause passing problems.

In a group with radio contact - the lead vehicle could always warn of oncoming traffic and get the ... cub drifter, pop up caravan thingy. 2.7m long x 2m wide ... to hold up in a wider section.

The road also has the usual NPWS culverts across the road on the gravel sections ... can cause dragging issues for some vehicles with a droopy rear.

Agree with OzTroopy re the road.

Enjoy your stay. The tiled amenities block with hot water showers and electricity to charge batteries/phones or to dry your hair, is a treat.
A gas BBQ is available under the large picnic shelter.

Very enjoyable walks taking in several lookouts.

We will return one day.

for a bit of a side trip leave the van in Baraba and do Barraba to Mt Kaputar and back. Nice little track. I had to pay a deposit on a key at Baraba but no problems and the people were extra friendly. Nice town. rgds
Slow down and relax......
