You’ll have to excuse me for asking this question, because I don’t have a detailed map of the area as yet.

North out of Weipa there is a track heading into the Agnew Ruins, and crosses the Wenlock River.

Are there any tracks following the Wenlock either west or east of the crossing?

If so, does anyone have contact details of the lease hold/owners in that area please?

Regards

Kim

Terri Irwin has the land now west of the crossing and blocked it off. I saw her at the Albatross hotel last year and asked for access from stones crossing as i know that area well. She was very polite but said no as they had scientists out the looking for things to stop the mines minning it. There is a track that go,s west before the bridge that has some good camp spots. Cheers Tony

A couple of k before you get to Stones Crossing (where the track turns north) there is and old track that heads due west and comes out on the Development Road about 10k south of the Wenlock bridge.

You will have to do a bit of a search using GPS to find the track after crossing through a new fence line and a couple of gates.

If you follow the westerly track you will have to winch through at least one creek crossing, as the west bank is very steep.
