I will be picking up the Tvan this week and taking it for a shakedown run to
Melbourne. Can anyone suggest somewhere to take it off-road. Looking at returning via
Omeo,
Bright and up to Albury.

Hello Esarby,
Assuming you'll want some tracks for the new trailer. you could try the tracks leading from Lake Buffalo to Whitfield and Edi. In dry weather, they are in the easy category.
Travel to
Bright and on to
Porepunkah, then TL up the Buffalo River Road.
Two tracks lead away to the west from the lake:
1) Lake Buffalo-Whitfield Road about halfway along the lake. Follow this then TR to the Black Range Creek Road and the Edi-Cheshunt Road to come out via Edi Upper to Edi on the Whitfield-Wangaratta Road.
2) The Dandongadale-Buffalo Divide and Black Range Tracks which come out just north of Whitfield past the Gentle Annie Campgrounds. Alternatively, you can go down Porters' Track to access the road through to Edi Upper.
I suggest you seek details on these tracks before travelling them as it's many years since I have. Have a look at Google Maps to see these tracks.
In the event these tracks are not open and you want some gravel experience as
well as some sightseeing, take the Rose River Road to Cheshunt, Whitfiled and Wangaratta. Stop off at
Paradise Falls on the way. Plenty to see around Whitfield.
Cheers,
Netnut
