I bought and installed one about 3 months ago. The instructions are minimal and mostly appeared to be for another unit. I emailed the seller and he was very quick to help. Installation took awhile because it didn't quite fit in my 2004 Hilux 3.ol TD.
Once I got the hang of using it I found it a reasonable unit. The radio is okay without being brilliant. The ipod connection is handy but it doesn't charge the ipod and the on-screen controls are very slow to use. It has the option to use the ipods own controls and I found that the best.
There is an SD slot which is great. I put music and photographs on it. The DVD is pretty good as
well. The CD player takes MP3s. Lots of music options.
The GPS took a biit of getting used to but once it is set up it is excellent. The only problem I encountered was if you take a different route to the one it calculated for you, it continually tells you to turn around or to go around
the block to go back to its route. It eventually sorts itself out. If it takes too long then I just start a new route to the same destination.
Mine uses Route 66.
Mine uses WinCE 5.0. I would like to load ozieexplorer but I haven't tried it yet. You do have the option to run an executable file for the GPS so you might be able to run ozie.
Link to user instructions. They are pretty close.

Reversing camera is good. it uses a CCD camera which are bl**dy expensive.
That's about it. I half expect it to fall apart on the first rough road but you never know.
Regards,
Bob

Paul, I have the VMS in dash unit with Bluetooth, mapping and everything. DVD, iPod control, USB music - all that, including radio
I am very pleased with it. Memory Map is standard but I have OziExplorer developer version running in it instead as MM is like vers 1.1 Ozi LITE, it is light. I have made the point with VMS but they get a lot of people that aren't computer savvy so it works for them ;-(( No matter I already have Ozi licences. The map availability is far better.
The turn by turn software is fantastic being NavNgo iGo 8 is heaps better than anything else I had tried. It still uses Sensis mapping which isn't yet up to date, but version 15 should arrive soon as my free upgrade. Paul, I have some pics with my profile.
VMS is locally supported Chinese made and the screen is good to read

Friend has one of the earlier version but I have the 3000. I have a 16gig mapping SDHC card and an 8gig USB card for music. I prefer radio though. Both are a good bit of gear Crow

what or how good is radio reception and output sound like?
DVD...how good is it...does it want to skip over bumps etc etc or is it as good as factory fitted cd player?
what is screen clarity like...can you zoom into map and map remains OK ie image remains quite clear...(not pixelated)?

Nudie, I have always had a problem with the radio in the LC and believe it is largely related to the antenna. Others on LCOOL have replaced the antenna with one on the guard and I reckon the Mobile One am/fm tuned 60" one would work better, but have done nothing so far.
I haven't subjected the DVD to incessant corrugations to really know mate. It will play good quality music and all the MP3s MP4s etc or whatever. You can have your music on the USB 8gig limited memory stick and then another, then another or shuffle your music off the computer. The touch screen is that. Touch, don't press.
Screen clarity is excellent. The pixxelated screen would be the enlargement of the maps beyond what they were set for. I use the 250k Australia when I can't get higher definition maps and that does break down if enlarged to greatly. It is a +750meg file on the SD card. I can enlarge the Victorian 10k maps I have greatly.
Nudie, it was great to get a lot of gear like the normal GPS and PDA off the dash and combine it.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I think I will look at the vms unit as it seems to be very good with every think already loaded.
