Jarram gutter to gutterless conv.

A question about Jarram roof racks.

Just purchased a 2nd hand Jarram 2.8 x 1.3 overlander style
steel roof rack with wooden slats for $77 of ebay...BARGIN.

Now it's a 8 post gutter mount style rack, which I will be using
on the old jack.
Can I convert it later to put onto a gutterless mounting system on a new jack?
I've spoke to Jaram here in Perth and they say It could be possible
but they weren't really sure, nothing as far as off the shelf stuff anyway.

Has anyone done this?
They weight shouldn't be a prob (~22kg without wooden slats).
When you're looking at $1200 for a new r/rack of this size,
it's worth a try.
