There was a thread recently about a 3.0 D4D hilux motor into a Cruiser ute. Can I stir it up and say why not put the new V8 Diesel into a new Hilux. I wonder if anyone has done this?

For that matter, has anyone done, or is thinking about, a 200-series engine/transmission into a 70-series C/C ?

Or, can the 70-series V8 be converted to the same specs as the 200-series ? Are heads, turbo's, exhaust the only differences ?

I don't believe you would be able to fit the engines in either vehicles the old 75/78 series or the Luxes as the motor is alot wider.

For that matter, why not slip it into a Prado as well!!!

Actually a V6 Diesel in a Prado would be the Bees Knees......

Recently seen a 4.7 lexus v8 in a 03 lux. Whole vehicle was widened by 200mm and dropped on a cruiser chasis.

I put a 253 V8 into a Toyata Twin Cab Dyna. It gave better fuel economy that the original 2lt 4 cylinder petrol that I removed.
