Swmbo and I are doing the tourist thing this weekend around
Cloncurry and I would like to stay in the middle of town.
I have looked on the net,but there is not a huge amount of info.
The Gidgee Inn looks good, but we would like to be in town.
our experience has told us 'there are motels and there are motels' and that taking pot luck in the 'phone book can have its moments.
Soooo, is there a good place to stay in town.

I had the same problem when making reservations for a visit to
Cloncurry in August. I phoned the local council office and asked the person who answered the phone where they would book their mother if she was visiting and liked to stay in good quality accommodation. As a result we are booked into the Gidgee Inn.
Not a recommendation from personal experience, of course. Just using local knowledge.

Boo, the motel is around the back. It was fairly new a couple of years ago, not terribly expensive and quite
well appointed.
I didn't get to sample the actual pub , but it seemed nice.
A pity I was only passing through.

Wife and I stayed at the Gidgee Inn a couple of years ago when we had a break down. It is very good, with a nice restaurant.
Nothing is very far out of town in
Cloncurry.
